CASTLE: Last night’s episode was very good with a strong guest turn by Dana Delany as an FBI profiler whose reputation made Castle really excited and made Beckett more than little jealous. My only problem with the episode is the final moment because we know what part of the outcome will be (that’s my spoiler-free comment). I’ll still watch next Monday’s episode because I’m completely devoted to Nathan Fillion and his portrayal of Castle. Fillion doesn’t play him as just a smart aleck – he’s an intelligent guy with a lot of deductive reasoning. I loved when Beckett asked if he was going to protect her “with your abundance of rapier wit.” And for the record, I hope they never put the two of them together romantically – their banter is too good as is.
CHUCK: Loved the Casey story in last night’s episode even though some of it was filler during the hour (the Subway scene didn’t do anything even though it was funny). The train yard scene was terrific because Chuck had a life-changing moment, though it wasn’t the moment he thought he’d have. I keep hoping they will push Chuck toward becoming more of a hardened spy and not always revert to his “gee whiz” persona. There’s got to be some sort of forward character movement if we’re to believe Chuck is truly becoming a seasoned spy. I love the softer side of Chuck but if the story is going to move forward, something’s gotta give.
DAMAGES: As usual, I can’t piece everything together as to where the story is going except for the fact that Tom Shays will expire. I like that Patty is showing some cracks in her cool veneer as exemplified by her anger after her talk with estranged son Michael and then throwing a mug at her wall, and then later ripping up a chunk of the wall. I hate that we can’t see any emotion on her face though as Glenn Close has been over-botoxed to the point where she is now being held hostage by her own face. It’s not a good thing. I loved when Keith Carradine’s architect character repeated to Patty that the value of her apartment lies with what’s behind the walls. My favorite scene last night: Frobisher and the filmmakers who want to make a movie from his book meeting with Patty and Patty’s frosty rebuke to Frobisher stating in no uncertain terms what she thinks of him. It’s fantastic to see the very talented Craig Bierko as Terry Brooke, the actor who wants to portray Frobisher in the movie. I really want to see where this story goes – almost more than I want to see the Tobin story.
REALITY TV: I‘ll be catching KELL ON EARTH later this week. I clicked back and forth to DWTS and the short snippets I saw were more than enough. I have trouble sitting through the entire show.

Tonight’s rundown:
ABC: 8:00pm. Lost (R) 9:00pm. Lost 10:00pm. V: The Arrival (recap)
NOTE: LOST RUNS 6 MINUTES LONG TONIGHT. Tonight’s episode tells us the backstory of the man who doesn’t age.
If you’d like to catch up on V or get a quick refresher on the episodes that aired a little while ago, watch the recap episode airing after LOST. V returns with new episodes next Tuesday March 30.
CBS: 8:00pm. NCIS (R) 9:00pm. NCIS: Los Angeles (R) 10:00pm. The Good Wife (R)
Though THE GOOD WIFE is a repeat tonight, today’s good news about the show is that Alan Cumming has been upped to series regular. Audience reaction to his character Eli Gold has been overwhelmingly positive as his performance is quietly compelling, funny and dramatic. Cumming rarely disappoints and it’s wonderful to see him score in a mainstream TV show like THE GOOD WIFE.
NBC: 8:00pm. The Biggest Loser (two hours) 10:00pm. Parenthood
I’d tell you to watch PARENTHOOD but there are FAR better options at 10pm such as JUSTIFIED and SOUTHLAND. If you need a really soft show at 10pm, go with PARENTHOOD.
FOX: 8:00pm. American Idol (2 hours)
Miley Cyrus is mentoring the contestants which is just plain moronic. It had to be said. Cyrus will perform with Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato on tomorrow night’s show. This week’s theme: Billboard #1 Hits.
THE CW: 8:00pm. 90210 9:00pm. Melrose Place
FX: 10pm: Justified
Tonight’s episode is titled “Riverbrook” and has Raylan hunting an escaped prisoner who is determined to reunite with his ex-wife…and his stashed fortune. While the show settles into a more procedural structure in this episode, the characters will hold your attention and the guy who plays the escaped prisoner is especially good in his scenes with Olyphant.
TNT: 10pm: Southland
In tonight’s episode titled “The Runner”: Lydia and Rene arrive in Compton, where a young USC student was murdered. Kenny and Andy canvass the neighborhood while Nate and Sammy investigate a house nearby where a party took place the night before. John and Ben head to Indian Wells for the funeral of a cop that proves to be very personal for John. They also stop at a halfway house for cops to see how Dewey (guest star C. Thomas Howell) is doing. And Lydia decides to talk to her mother about something that has been festering between them for years.
That’s a wrap for now.
